The Incas used to work the metal masterly. The procedure "Cire Perdue" (Lost wax), which was know in the Eastern and disappeared in the Western until the age of the Renaissance, was the most worked by the excellent Peruvian goldsmiths. Our visit to THE GOLD MUSEUM let us appreciate a stunning gold collection from different pre-Columbian cultures, some with more of 3,000 years of age. Objects and Goldsmith jewels of an impressive value are exhibited. All of them designed in gold, silver and precious stones, highlighting the ornaments and objects that in those days used the Incas, sons of the God Sun and monarchs of the vast Inca Empire.
The fame of the gold of Peru attracted a great number of European adventurers 500 years ago and it was the reason of the end of the Incas Empire, giving origin to the Viceroy of Peru, of the Spain Crown. Peruvian Gold Museum exhibits a valuable collection of antique and modern weapons which is considered one of the best in the world. Armors, uniforms and objects of different times and places are exhibited in its rooms; even some of the objects are dated from 1300 B.C. This exhibition is known as Weapons of the World Museum.
