Driving through Puerto Montt you'll see the colorful shingled houses and the neo-Classical Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas .
Leaving Puerto Montt, travel north passing the lush countryside to the town of Puerto Varas overlooking Lake Llanquihue, Chile's second largest lake. Now you will travel north through the countryside to Frutillar, a picturesque village founded in 1856 by German settlers and known for its traditional German-style architecture.
As you explore this charming city, enjoy a drive through the old district and along the coastal avenue and visit to the German Colonial Museum. Stops will be made at the regional handicraft markets to search for some souvenirs to bring home!.
Also visit the new lakeside theatre where the famous "Semanas Musicales de Frutillar" summer concerts are held. Frutillar is famous for its delicious sweet pastry.
