Description:

After the Petrohue Falls stop we will drive along the petrohue river to the Todos los Santos lake and our adventure will start with a forest trek, a forest that has survived the last eruptions of the volcano Osorno.

Our first stop is at a observation point that overlooks the birth place of the Petrohue river and part of the Lake Todos Los Santos .Then we continue to delve deeper into the native forest where we can appreciate the beauty of coihue (Nothofagus dombeyi), ulmo (Eucryphia cordifolia) and avellano (Gevuina avellana or Chilean hazel-nut) trees.

Then we shall arrive at our first obstacle, “El Cable” ravine, crossed via rope bridges. Once we have overcome this first obstacle we will advance to the “Del Zorro” canyon where we will continue to challenge our skills and abilities as we use zip-lines to descend the canyon, flying at great speeds through millenary trees.

Once we have made the descent, we can enjoy and admire the Patagonian forest. Here we will rest and gather strength for the next stage, a passage through giant roots that serve as natural steps to our next objective, the north east wall of the canyon.

Once we have made the climb, we will continue accompanied by native bird life, and fresh air that will lift our spirits and give us energy for our next challenge.

We will launch on the last zip-lines to a meeting place where we will have a brief talk on rappel safety and correct rope technique. Then we will rappel down to the bottom of the ravine.

From there, surrounded by shrubbery and moss, we will continue to our last challenge, we will scale the wall of “La Tepa” ravine using rope ladders.

Once we have arrived at the top we will begin our journey back, concluding an unforgettable experience and we return to the Hotel Petrohue for a nice snack with typical chilean wine and Empanadas.

After that we will continue the program with the visit to Puerto Varas city as described in the Petrohue excursion.

We recommend that guests wear warm layered clothing in order to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion, a rain coat, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are also recommended
